The Field Biologist
Hey there!
Rather than being a full-blown smutty story, this is only a mostly full-blown smutty story, featuring the escapades between a lizard (you) and an elf as you explore a mangrove forest together. It's a short, sweet, fantastical ride of 26k words, meant to get you titillated while adding growth to my world.
Why I Wrote This Story:
I've wanted to experiment with hub-based settings for a long time, and I thought they were easier to write than kinetic-based stories, so I would have extra time to work on client-server stuff. In reality, it was more work than I thought!
But I managed my goal of getting a server up and running so that you can store certain meta-variables between stories, which will help to enhance the storytelling as more and more layers are added to the meta-story.
As always, I tried to make a story that:
- Are person focused.
- Let your brain fill in the details.
This lets you maximize the enjoyment of the story by utilizing your own imagination to fill in the vague details I've left in the story. In this way, you can understand the story the way you want to, in order to maximize your enjoyment.
I really hope you enjoy it.
For You Developers Out There, Here's a Little Bonus Information:
I made this prototype to test the Twine, Tweego, SugarCube workflow. All the template code is available on my GitHub so other IF writers can check out the code and see things they'd like. Some novel features include:
- The ability to easily disable content.
- How pronoun changes are set.
- Event handlers of all types.
- Tooltips.
- A server-side setup using Google's Firebase.
- Et cetera.
The template documentation is still being written, so hang in there!

If I can't change gender and race, why does the creation screen even have "breasts"?
There are several different types of anthropomorphic characters in fantasy. By specifying that you cannot have breasts, you know which kind of lizard you're playing.
Protagonist characters in my story don't have a gender, instead, you can change either your pronouns or your set of genitalia. Depending on your definition of gender, this should work for you. If you're having an issue with this, please let me know. There may be a bug impacting your gameplay.
You can't change race because I am a single person, and writing variations for a half-dozen races would be too much of a burden for me to perform at this time. I'm still trying to get good at just writing with 3 (pronoun sets) times 4 (genitalia option) times 2 (breasts options), 24 options in mind! Though it is easier to (and I do) break these options down into constituent parts (tail v. no tail, for instance), I simply cannot at this time afford the time to allow multiple race choices while maintaining a viable product.
Need help? I can write damn good.
It's a kind offer, but I would like to be more established before I take on additional help.
is the camping the end of the game? i can't go further
Once you've reached the scene regarding the beetles there are one (or two) more passages. Though if you haven't done all the lounge scenes, there are more.
All I can give you right now is an apology for putting out a badly tested game. Please accept my apologies for my shoddy work. I hope this doesn't hamper your enjoyment of my series!
I'll update the game in about 30 minutes when I fix it. When I do, I'll edit this post accordingly. The issue has been fixed, please refresh your browser or redownload the game. You shouldn't need to restart the game for the scene to load.---
The Problem:
There are three main routes you can take through the game to get there, and it looks like the "Game-End" message isn't firing for two of them after I changed how the style of the game looks. This is interesting because I did 0 logic changes in my last update. So did I have an issue before I did the style change that my testing missed?
That's a problem I'll have to look through version control to identify and learn from so that my future games can get better.
yup it's fixed thanks for the quick response it was a fun story ^^
Just a reminder folks. If you post unsolicited advertisements for your game in my comments section, I will just report you, delete your post, and move on.
